The design I have over you is not of prodigious things…rather, my design is to absorb you into my Will, making you one with It

In the passage of May 21, 1900, Jesus explains to Luisa what His design is over her, that is, to bring her to live in uniformity with His Divine Will. He says: " The design I have over you is not of prodigious things, and of many things which I could operate over you to show my work; rather, my design is to absorb you into my Will, making you one with It, and to render you a perfect example of uniformity of your will with Mine. But this is the most sublime state, it is the greatest prodigy, it is the miracle of miracles that I intend to make of you." These words are reminiscent of John's Gospel, when Jesus prays to the Father and says, "…that all of them may be one…  I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.." (John.17,21-23). Jesus shows Luisa how the union of the two wills can take place. That is, He explains how to exercise our personal will, which God Himself has given us, in perfect accord with the Divine Will in all the acts of our life, from the most common to the most extraordinary.

In this way we receive by grace "a divine form" and thus inherit the gifts, the graces, the most sublime heroic virtues that are proper to the divine life. In fact, in this regard, Jesus explains: " The height of the perfection of a soul undone in my Will is such that she reaches the point of operating like God. And this is no wonder, because, since it is no longer her will that lives in her but the Will of God Himself, every amazement ceases if, by living with this Will, she possesses the power, the wisdom, the sanctity and all the other virtues that God Himself contains. It is enough to tell you, so that you may become enamored and cooperate as much as you can on your part to reach such extent, that the soul who arrives at living of my Will alone is queen of all queens, and her throne is so high as to reach the throne of the Eternal One; she enters the secrets of the Most August Trinity, and participates in the reciprocal love of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." From this we see that this perfect union of wills comes into the bosom of the Trinity; for we remember in the Gospel of John "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them". (John.14:23)

Pope Francis, in his Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete ed Exsultate, states that the mission of every saint has its fullness in living it in Christ. In fact the Pope says:  “Holiness is experiencing, in union with Christ, the mysteries of his life. It consists in uniting ourselves to the Lord’s death and resurrection in a unique and personal way, constantly dying and rising anew with him. But it can also entail reproducing in our own lives various aspects of Jesus’ earthly life: his hidden life, his life in community, his closeness to the outcast, his poverty and other ways in which he showed his self-sacrificing love. Because “everything in Jesus’ life was a sign of his mystery”, “Christ’s whole life is a revelation of the Father”, “Christ’s whole life is a mystery of redemption”, “Christ’s whole life is a mystery of recapitulation”. “Christ enables us to live in him all that he himself lived, and he lives it in us” (n.20)
