On Wednesday, March 11, at the Cattedrale di Trani, the Luisa Piccarreta Association, together with a delegation of its associates and the Faville della Divina Volontà, took part in the meeting promoted by Archbishop Leonardo D’Ascenzo in preparation for Easter. The gathering brought together groups, associations, and movements belonging to the Consulta Diocesana delle Aggregazioni Laicali (CDAL), creating a meaningful moment of communal reflection and ecclesial communion.
Participation was very strong: the cathedral was filled with faithful who had come from the seven cities that make up the Archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie.
During his address, the Archbishop emphasized how lay associations represent a great richness for the diocese. Meetings such as this, which bring together the various realities of the local Church, aim to foster mutual knowledge and strengthen the sense of belonging to one ecclesial community. Each group, in fact, carries its own specific charism which, when shared with others, becomes a valuable resource for supporting the pastoral journey of the diocese.
His Excellency also recalled that the Church is not a reality lived individually — “it is not a condominium” — but rather a family in which every association contributes, through its own commitment, to the achievement of the pastoral priorities of the diocese, within the context of the synodal journey undertaken in recent years.
Finally, he highlighted three areas that are emerging as central for the Italian Episcopal Conference and, consequently, also for the archdiocese: the proclamation and transmission of the faith, the active presence of the Christian community in the local territory, and commitment to social and charitable service. All of this, he concluded, must be grounded on an essential foundation: prayer and attentive listening to the Word of God.
