In preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption, the Luisa Piccarreta Association gathered in prayer to contemplate and meditate upon the great mystery of the Assumption of Mary Most Holy into Heaven.
As we prayed the Holy Rosary, contemplating the Glorious Mysteries, we entrusted ourselves to our Heavenly Mother, allowing ourselves to be accompanied by her light and her maternal presence as we joyfully awaited the feast dedicated to her.
The glory of the Risen Jesus, the New Adam clothed in the Light of the Fiat, became united with the beauty of the Assumption. Through her entrance into Heaven, Mary reopened the celebration between the Creator and His creature. In her, the Divine Will knows no interruption: what Mary accomplished on earth, She continues to accomplish in Heaven, like a sun that gives light without ever losing a single ray. Mary lives immersed in this divine operation, which never ceases, and her glorious presence becomes a song of love that embraces all, reaches every creature, returns to the bosom of God, and once again pours itself out upon the earth.
Mary’s glory is unsurpassed because our Celestial Mother carries within Herself the human will united with the Will of God. Her love knows no weariness: it fills the heavens, envelops the earth, and flows like a river that never ceases to give of what it possesses. The Holy Spirit, who began His mission of purification and sanctification in the Upper Room, continues to operate through Mary’s perfect docility, guiding humanity toward the restoration of the Kingdom of the Divine Will.
The feast of the Assumption is thus revealed as the greatest of all feasts: it is the feast of the Divine Will operating in a creature so rich and luminous that the heavens themselves cannot contain her. The angels gaze upon her in silence, unable to express in words what they behold. Mary enters into Glory as though in an ecstasy of love, welcomed by the joy of the Most Holy Trinity and by the divine melodies proclaiming her, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Her beauty enchants, captivates, and conquers; her love leaves behind it infinite seas of light. She is Queen of Love, Victress through Love: she loved so greatly that, through love, she conquered her very God.
Her crowning by the Most Holy Trinity is the seal of this eternal mission. Through the power of the Fiat that she possessed, Mary restored the bonds broken by humanity, reordered all things, and covered with her love the weaknesses, evils, and even the sins of humanity. And from Heaven she continues to desire only one thing: to give her children what she possesses and to establish among us that same Divine Will that made her so great.
Before such a living beauty, our hearts cannot remain closed. Every burden of our lives, our hidden struggles, the longings that weigh upon us, and the situations that seem to have no way out—all find a safe refuge in Mary’s hands. She welcomes them, holds them close to her Mother’s Heart, and unties them with the tenderness with which she untied the knots woven throughout the history of salvation.
For the feast of the Assumption is not something distant: it is a call that reaches us today, inviting us to allow the Divine Fiat to operate in our own little lives, just as It operated without measure in her.
Mother of Love, from Heaven where you reign in glory, turn your merciful gaze toward the earth and have compassion on us.
Oh, how deeply we feel the need for our dear Mother! We feel that without you, life itself is lacking, and that everything falters when we are without your maternal presence. Therefore, do not leave us halfway along our journey, but continue to guide and accompany us until everything within us and around us is transformed into the Will of God.
Our Mother, take us by the hand and lead us until the Divine Will forms within us Its very own Life and establishes Its Kingdom. (Cf. Day 31 – The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will)
Fiat!
