Dear Brothers and Sisters
First of all, I would like to thank His Excellency Archbishop Leonardo D'Ascenzo. As Father and Pastor, he is always close to us; his closeness encourages us on the path of personal formation and diffusion of the spirituality of the Servant of God.
I also thank the Mayor of our city of Corato, Professor Corrado Nicola De Benedittis, the Councillor Architect Antonella Varesano, the Vicar General Don Sergio Pellegrini, the parish priest Don Vincenzo Bovino, as well as Don Vincenzo Di Pilato and Don Silvio Caldarola.
Excellency, you have deprived us of such a good priest as Don Sergio but you have put on our path another holy priest, Don Vincenzo Bovino. In fact he is always available, collaborative and eager to deepen the knowledge of our Luisa and of the message that our Lord left us through her.
The sun of the Divine Will possesses the source of light and by turning around it we can always draw new light that infiltrates our hearts and generates good.
Today we conclude the Days of Light that began on February 28. My hope is that this series of appointments that we have shared have contributed to nourishing the knowledge of the Divine Will and the sense of unity and brotherhood.
Pope Francis says: "We have set out on a journey led by God’s kindly light that dissipates the darkness of division and directs our journey towards unity.... The world needs God’s light, and that light shines only in love, in communion and in fraternity."
The war between Russia and Ukraine has been the background to these days we have experienced. Today, on the 75th anniversary of Luisa's death, may our prayer, raised from her tomb, be a light that dispels the darkness of selfishness and destructive ferocity; may it enlightens the minds and warms the hearts of those with political responsibilities so that they may take the path of reconciliation and peace and God may wage his war of love.
